Joanne Scott Massey is an acclaimed painter with a focus on natural elements.  She graduated in 1984 from the University of Southern Indiana with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art.  Joanne has received rave reviews for her large lush floral paintings.  She resides and operates her fine art studio in Evansville, Indiana.

Joanne works in many different mediums; acrylic, oils, watercolor, and clay.  Acrylics and clay are her favorite mediums.  She gathers inspiration from an array of different subjects - wherever she finds beauty.  Flowers and landscapes are her signature pieces.  She enjoys sharing her art by teaching small groups.  Her paintings are displayed in public and private collections in the U.S and Europe.  Many of her large scale florals are on permanent display at both Deaconess Hospital and Gateway Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, as part of their cherished art collection.

In 2019 and 2020 Joanne was awarded two grants through the Indiana Arts Commission to start a pottery program at Angel Mounds State Historic Site in Evansville, IN. These grants were made possible by appropriated funds from the Indiana State Legislature in conjunction with the National Endowment for the Arts. In 2019 Joanne also received a first place award for a painting in the "Working Together Show" sponsored by the Arts Council of Southwest Indiana and the Evansville Museum. In 2017 Joanne was awarded "Artist of the Year" by The Arts
